Operation Live Fire
Unauthorised re-streams of a live combat-sports pay-per-view were reported to the hosts carrying them while the event was still on air.
- Sector
- Live sports broadcasting
- Content
- Unauthorised re-streams of a pay-per-view event
- Legal route
- DMCA §512 · Host & registrar abuse
- Time to removal
- 15 minutes (as published)
Live piracy is a race against the clock: a stream removed after the main event has already done its damage. Rights-holders prepare in advance — authorisation to act, monitoring of known re-stream sources, and notice templates for each hosting provider — so notices go out within minutes of a stream appearing.
Copyright notices to the host, and where needed to the CDN in front of it, are the lawful route. The published time for this case is 15 minutes.
Figures marked “as published” are the client-reported results of the operation. Client identities are shared only with consent.
